You can download a PDF copy of the Reflective Practice Guide here.
You can write your reflections in a journal. You can also use your reflections with a supervisor.

Below are some reflective questions you can consider.

In my work with women with disabilities:

  • What were the highlights today?
  • Did I communicate well? If not, what could I do differently next time?
  • How did I show empathy?
  • How did I show understanding?
  • Did I involve them in decision-making processes? How could I improve this?

  • What barriers did I encounter? How did I address them?
  • What feedback did I receive?  How can I use this feedback to improve my work?
  • Were there any moments today where I felt uncomfortable or unsure? How can I learn from this?
  • Did I advocate for their rights and needs? What can I do to improve my advocacy skills?
  • How did I work with other professionals to provide support?
  • Did I engage in any self-care today?

You may think of other questions you can reflect on. We have also written a reflective practice journal [internal link] with 52 prompts you can use.

Remember you might not always get it right. You can learn each day from your work with women with disabilities.
